How would Toner Action WA help the environment?
Currently,
all new cartridges sold in Australia are fully imported, and the
jobs and profits are accordingly exported. The choice to re-manufacture,
recycle or purchase new is yours to make, but it may surprise you
to learn that no brand new toner cartridges are made in Australia.
There
may be some that appear to be brand new, Original Equipment Manufacturer
(OEM) style glossy packaging, etc. There are still others that may
imply that they are new by omitting words like "re-manufactured"
from their packaging, but the truth is that all brand new cartridges
are fully imported.
Only
10 to 15% of these are subsequently re-manufactured in Australia.
The rest ends up in landfill. Currently, 3 million cartridges end
up as landfill in Australia each year. That adds up to a lot of
plastic (up to 1kg), aluminium (up to .25kg) and oil (up to 3 litres)
per cartridge being dumped in our backyard!
Toner
Action is Australian employing Australian's. Imagine how many more
would be working if we as Australians re-manufactured 80% of cartridges
rather than the 10 to 15% currently.
In
the United States almost 35 million kilograms of waste (including
over 73 million litres of oil - visualise that!) from used toner
cartridges, is 'rescued' each year from landfill by re-manufacturing.

6.
If I use recycled toner cartridges, won't it automatically void
my printer warranty and maintenance contract?
No,
this is best illustrated by referencing OEM warranty policy statements,
for example:
Hewlett
Packard Policy
"The
use of a non-HP or refilled toner cartridge alone does not affect
either your warranty or any maintenance contract you may have
with your printer. However, if a HP Laser Jet printer failure
or damage is found to be attributable directly to the use of a
non-HP toner cartridge, HP will not repair the printer free of
charge. In this case, standard time and material charges will
be applied to service your printer for that particular failure
or damage."
7.
Re-manufactured, don't you mean refilled?
No,
we do not simply refill cartridges. Our re-manufacturing process
is complex. Re-manufacturing Premium/OEM compatible cartridges involves
the replacement of numerous parts including, but not limited to,
OPC drums, rollers, seals and blades.
Also,
replacement of the specified quantity of toner, of a type correctly
matched to the cartridge is essential for optimum performance.
Cartridges
are then subjected to a number of quality checks and tests before
being repackaged and sold.
8.
How many times can you re-manufacture a cartridge?
The
cartridge itself can be re-manufactured two or three times as most of the
parts inside the cartridge that deteriorate can be replaced.
9.
Can all toner cartridges be recycled?
Most
brands of toner cartridge can be re-manufactured. If you are unsure
about the availability of re-manufactured product for your printer
simply contact our office for confirmation.
10.
What are the benefits of using re-manufactured cartridges?
You
will save up to 50% compared with buying genuine replacement product.
You will be helping to protect the environment. You will be supporting
Australian industry and employment.
11.
Just how much will you save?
You
can save up to 50% compared with genuine toner cartridge costs.
You can save thousands of $$$ over a 12 month period just by switching
your purchasing to re-manufactured cartridges.

The
cost savings per year in the above Table is based on the following
criteria:
- Printing
24,000 pages per year (4 x 500 sheet reams of A4 paper per month).
- Dividing
the annual page consumption (24,000) by each cartridges page output
capacity as specified by the manufacturer to work out the number
of cartridges needed to print 24,000 pages @ 5% and 15% toner
coverage per page.
- Genuine
pricing sourced from On-line Retailers such as Office Works™
- All
re-manufactured pricing sourced from our Toner Action franchise.
12.
What is the warranty for the re-manufactured toner cartridges?
Toner
Action supplies a LIFETIME WARRANTY on our re-manufactured cartridges
until the cartridge is empty. This warranty does not apply to cartridges,
which have been damaged or improperly stored.
If
this cartridge fails, pack the cartridge in its box, together with
print samples and return it to Toner Action, who may, subject to
verification of the defect, replace the cartridge or refund the
full purchase price paid for the cartridge. If any cartridge causes
damage to any compatible laser printer, copier or fax for which
the cartridge was designed to be used in, then this firm will reimburse
you for the cost of the repairs required to correct this printer
damage.
The
above is conditioned upon your notifying this firm and allowing
inspection of the machine before contacting a repair company and
then your providing:
- satisfactory
evidence that the cartridge was the cause of damage;
-
the original itemised invoice for the repairs performed which
shows the name and address of the company performing the repair;
and
-
the signed statement of the company performing the repairs, on
the company's letter head, stating that the damage to the printer
was caused solely by the cartridge.
Under
this warranty, Toner Action's liability is limited to replacement
or refund, and in the case of damage to the printer, photocopier
or fax to reimbursement of repair costs, as stated in this document.
If
you have any reason to claim under this warranty, please contact
Toner Action
13.
The manufactures stated capacity for my printer cartridge is quoted
as 1000 pages at 5% coverage what does that mean?
If
you divide an A4 page into 100 equal size rectangles and you black
out five of them, the five blacked out rectangles represent 5% coverage
of the A4 size page. This means your cartridge should print 1000
A4 pages of a coverage equal to an area of the five rectangles.
